A poem using the following words and phrases:
Before humanity graced the universe
clock
rolls-royce
wallaby
hidden agenda
Before humanity graced the universe
I never watched the clock,
watched the phone,
watched the screen,
waiting for someone to care.
There was no jealousy,
no ambition.
The rolls-royce
wasn't a status symbol.
Before humanity graced the universe
there was no one to care
if the wallaby
was roadkill.
There was no compassion,
no anger, no love,
no me, no you,
nothing to figure out.
Before humanity graced the universe
there was no way
for us to know
that God had a hidden agenda,
or to wonder what it is. |
